Zygophyllum Apiculatum

Gall Weed, Common Twinleaf

Small creeping plant that can last a few years but also grows very easily from seed. The leaves are broad, bright green and joined in pairs. The flowers are very attractive with five distinct yellow petals. The fruits are five-lobed, each lobe holding a single black seed. Flowers in late winter to spring.
